New Job

I haven’t written an update in a while, so I figured it was about time. I made it through the 2nd round of Covid. It was much easier the second time, but I did have treatments this time that I didn’t have the first time. As far as my Long Covid, the doctors believe most of my remaining symptoms are from MS. Their theory is that I was predisposed to MS and Covid accelerated it. I am not doing any of the MS drug treatments that most neurologists try to push. I started taking Low Dose Naltrexone a few months ago for my Long Covid, and apparently it is helpful in MS patients too. It is the medication that helps my brain the most. My main symptoms are numbness in my feet and hands. Electrical shocks that go through my legs to my feet. If I overdo it, I still end up with some fatigue. I’ve also had focal seizures, sensory overload, and brain fatigue.

On February 14th I started back to work. I have not worked a job in 19 months. I went with a job that I knew would be easy for me because I do not want to overwhelm my brain. I work from home, and it is part-time. The first 3 weeks I have been in training and had to work full-time hours. This was difficult for me because my brain starts to slow down at about 5 hours of mental work. I pushed my way through it though and usually went to bed as soon as I got off work. I was sleeping 13 – 14 hours and would get up the next morning and do it all over again. Luckily, I start my part-time schedule tomorrow. I am very thankful for that. I feel like I have not had much of a life these last few weeks.

The downside to all of this is that I haven’t had time to cook. I have been eating ready made “just heat up” unhealthy carb filled stuff or fast food. Therefore, I have gained a lot of weight. Starting today, I’m back on my calorie counting. My sister is doing this with me because she also needs to lose weight. We figured together we may be able to do this. She is going to be documenting it on her YouTube channel. I will post a link as soon as the first video is uploaded. I am also going to try to Blog about it weekly. If anyone else wants to join us, just send me an email. We are not doing any certain diet. We are just going to reduce calories and exercise.

Kim and I are completely opposites. So, it will be interesting to compare our different approaches. We will make out weekly meal plans, share our grocery list and what we buy. I’m a home cooking kind of person whereas she prefers quick and easy. I will be posting my recipes on my YouTube channel. Every Monday and Wednesday I post a cooking video and Friday is The Lake Hills City Birds video. I may drop down to just Wednesday for a cooking video. It just depends on how I do with my job. Anyway, that’s what is going on here.
