5 garden tomatoes (washed & sliced into chunks)
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
1/4 cup fresh oregano
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
In a skillet heat olive oil over medium low heat. Once heated, add in garlic. Sautee for 4 minutes.
Add in tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, (and sugar if using).
Mix everything together.
Place a lid over the skillet and simmer for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
Pour into blender. Blend until smooth.
That’s all there is to it. It is definitely drool-worthy and great for a variety of recipes. Check back Wednesday. I will be making chicken parmesan with this sauce.
